The Ahavas Yisrael charity fund is managed solely by volunteers and has an annual budget of $1.3 million dollars. Virtually every penny goes to needy Baltimore families or individuals. For more than 32 years, the Rabbi Chaim Nachman Kowalsky Memorial Ahavas Yisrael Charity Fund has fed, clothed, paid the rent, utility bills and medical bills for needy families in an attempt to help them keep their dignity. Some of these families have fallen on hard times due to unemployment, family situations or sickness. The goal of Ahavas Yisrael is to help these families get back on their feet by giving them a helping hand in their times of difficulty. All fund raising is done through this website, community mailings and charity boxes located in retail locations throughout Baltimore. The Talmud says the needs of your own city take precedence to other forms of charity, so please make Ahavas Yisrael a priority in your charitable giving list.
Ahavas Yisrael is a non-profit 501C3 organization with the Federal Tax ID# 52-1219478.

Outside of postage and food storage, we have none at all. All our work is done by volunteers. There are no salaries or other personnel compensation. We have no office or other administrative expenses. Every one of your dollars goes for the needy.
Policies and Procedures
